Abstract

Understanding demographic changes means (also) understanding the effects of scientific advancements, the presence or absence of welfare, the importance of support networks, political and economic dynamics, dialogue among diverse cultures, the need to establish clear regulations where necessary. And how ongoing changes will entail new roles for men and women, a fresh perspective on their place in the world. Because knowledge serves no purpose if it doesn't help us improve society.
