Abstract
In remote rural and mountain communities, job opportunities and access to public services are often limited. The ALPJOBS pilot project (2018-2020) aimed to explore social and educational innovation processes to support local employment opportunities by engaging stakeholders in envisioning the future world of work in Alpine regions by 2030. Through experimental futures literacy exercises, the project fostered communities' ability to anticipate and shape desirable futures. Utilizing various methods such as strategic scenarios, interviews, and mapping, the project encouraged proactive community involvement in long-term planning and skills development, fostering resilience and sustainability.
