Abstract
“The future is the sense of man”, Sartre wrote. General ontophenomenology, a unified field of transformation in ontoexistential sense born in the Center for Ontological Transformation, has isolated in the ecstasy of the future the ultimate locus of transformation. This paper, developed by the authors from Ventola’s presentation at the conference Osare il futuro on Sept. 28, 2024, presents a transformational theory of the future. Starting from a distinction between ontic and ontological future, three movements of ‘converting the future’ are articulated: anticipation, nullification, and immemorization. The paper unfolds in three passages: (1) The first concerns the existentialist revolution and the novelty that it has introduced to the future. (2) The second explores the point where it stopped: the ‘conversion of the future’. (3) The third investigates the anthropological consequences (in a philosophical sense) of these results: “the existent has no foundation because it founds itself”.
