Abstract
This reflection seeks to analyze the prospects that the future holds for the legal profession. The Italian and European legislators are striving, albeit with considerable difficulty, to outline a regulatory framework capable of governing artificial intelligence and its multiple applications in the legal field. While acknowledging the numerous doctrinal disputes concerning legal certainty – often considered to be facilitated, if not entirely ensured, by predictive justice systems – as well as the ongoing debates on the ethics of artificial intelligence, the focus here is on how these tools can comprehend and integrate a central element of the structure of the Italian legal system: the primacy of the “factum” in civil law.
