Abstract

Social cooperation is facing a deep crisis, marked by a chronic shortage of personnel, growing disaffection towards care professions, and the devaluation of social work. Based on the experience of the Azalea cooperative, this article analyzes these phenomena and, through foresight tools, raises a key strategic question: what conditions and systems can ensure the valorization of personnel and make the sector attractive to new generations?
The analysis of megatrends, the study of emerging skills, and the futures exercise using foresight methods, such as strategic interviews and the Three Horizons framework, have made it possible to outline a desired future for 2038. In this scenario, social cooperation has regained political and economic centrality, investing in innovation, job quality, and sustainability. The study concludes with concrete strategies to address future challenges and build a welfare model capable of responding to evolving social needs.
