Abstract
Therianthropism can be conceived as an ontological model for rethinking the human–animal relation. Rather than describing the anthropomorphization of animals, it proposes the becoming-animal of the human as a relational and transformative process. Drawing on prehistoric imagery, contemporary philosophy, and the ontological turn in anthropology, this perspective challenges the modern divide between nature and culture and redefines the human as plural and interspecific. Metamorphosis thus emerges not as metaphor but as epistemic practice—a shift in perspective grounded in embodied experience and exchanged gazes. Yet what theoretical and ethical consequences follow from adopting becoming-animal as a paradigm?
