Abstract

What is happening in Algeria is likely anticipating what will happen in the coming years in the Maghreb region: the end of historical elites and the rise to power of new political and social groups; the increasing pressure from a more globalized youth, connected to the world and tired of waiting their turn; the arrival of old (Russia) and new (China) powers in the regional equation.
