Abstract
Demographic pressures during the 1990s have led to a change in agenda-setting and in the very process of formulating pension reform policies. Demographic sustainability will likely be among the most important conditions shaping pension policy formulation in the coming years, and if recent data is to be believed, a very bright future should not be expected.
