Abstract
Urbanization is on the rise globally, with over half of the world's population living in cities. This trend is expected to continue, posing both opportunities and challenges. While cities concentrate economic activity and offer better access to services, they also face environmental and social issues. Technology plays a crucial role in addressing these challenges, enabling cities to become smarter and more resilient. However, emerging factors like remote work trends and the COVID-19 pandemic are reshaping urban dynamics, leading to discussions about distributed societies as an alternative to centralized urbanization.
