Abstract
Recent media production has amplified the connection between nostalgia and utopia, prefiguring imaginary futures, often dystopian, that serve as metaphors for questioning the field of past and present experience and the horizon of expectations about the future. Utopia, according to Ernst Bloch ([1955] 2020), is not an unrealisable dream, but a force born of the past and projected into the future. Nostalgia, therefore, is not just a reflection of the past, but a response to contemporary anxieties, an attempt to restore an equilibrium that is considered lost and, at the same time, utopianly renewable.
