Abstract
The concept of "future" emerges as a central focus in international social sciences. Arjun Appadurai initiates this reflection in 2004, analyzing aspirations as a cultural component of society. This perspective extends through the work of Italian sociologists, examining changes in the aspirations of Western communities during periods of modernization crisis. Additionally, the idea of a new sociology of the future, proposed by scholars like Wendell Bell and Barbara Adam, provides a lens for understanding how the future is socially and culturally constructed.
