Abstract
Set in an alternate, techno-political Italy, “Teano” reimagines the Risorgimento as a futuristic conflict between a bio-connected Vatican State and revolutionary forces. When a pregnant refugee appears to aid the rebels, her child is revealed to be a living bomb, triggering a massacre that exposes layers of betrayal and manipulation. Amid shifting loyalties, espionage, and sacrifice, the story explores themes of faith, revolution, technological control, and the fragile dream of Italian unity.
