Abstract
In “La Nave Verde”, Francesco Verso imagines a near-future where migrants fleeing Africa encounter a floating micronation instead of a closed Europe. Rescued by a humanitarian vessel built from the former aircraft carrier Liaoning, they join a radical project blending ecology, technology, and solidarity. After a tsunami gives birth to a new island in the Indian Ocean, the survivors terraform and found “No-Mad Land,” a borderless homeland for the displaced. The story transforms tragedy into utopia, proposing mobility, empathy, and innovation as alternatives to walls and exclusion.
