Abstract
The news of the cloning of two non-human primates by a Chinese scientific team, first reported in the scientific journal 'Cell' and then in the mainstream media, has reignited interest in this technique even outside the scientific community. In this article, we trace the steps that have led biomedical research to the brink of human cloning.
