In this editorial, Roberto Paura explores the widening gap between rapid technological acceleration and the stagnation of socio-political institutions, contrasting figures like Mark Zuckerberg with outdated global bodies such as the United Nations. While populism appears as the dominant disruptive force in Western politics, deeper transformations are emerging beneath the surface. Hacker culture, digital activism and post-work debates signal potential long-term systemic change driven by technological innovation. The transition toward a “new world,” though historically turbulent, may yet evolve into a nonviolent realignment.
