Abstract
What impedes interest in the environment and what are the reasons for the well-known difficulty in protecting its integrity? The complexity of the environmental issue clashes with what remains today of the traditional hierarchical structure of knowledge and with its current 'hyper-specialization', alongside the limited awareness of our inhabiting the world with both body and mind, in a reciprocal relationship with it.
